YpsiWrites' theme this year is "Write for Change." Given this theme, what type of change do you think your writing inspires and what are your reasons for doing this writing?

I love to write about hidden history, stories that have been ignored and marginalized, and to amplify those stories in the work I do. I would hope that my work encourages others to dig deeper beyond the first story they know, to seek out something that shows us the truth, even when the truth is painful.

What do you like about writing or why do you yourself like to write?

Writing to me is how I've created myself; writing is how I have lived so many lives. Writing is how I explore my world and my thoughts. Writing is how I stay alive.
