YpsiWrites' theme this year is "Write for Change." Given this theme, what type of change do you think your writing inspires and what are your reasons for doing this writing?

I’d like to hope that my writing inspires change and at the very least instills the idea of spurring civic change. I enjoy tackling current social issues in my writing, so evoking some sort of personal and societal reflection is always a goal with my writing.

What do you like about writing — or why do you yourself like to write?

I like writing because I think that words are the most powerful thing in the world. They should be use to their most precise and fullest extent. The human ability to articulate and to create off the basis of an idea is truly special, and should never be taken for granted.
